After a complete redesign last year, the Ford Expedition is still fresh for the 2019 model year. This bold SUV delivers a huge interior with tons of space for both passengers and cargo. Its V6 offers strong acceleration and impressive capabilities.

The Ford Expedition is available at three trim levels: XLT, Limited, and Platinum.

Powertrains and performance

The base engine on the Expedition is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® rated at 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. You can choose between standard rear-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive. While all trims have the same engine, the output on the Platinum trim is increased to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.

When properly equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, the Expedition delivers a best-in-class max towing capacity of 9,300 pounds.*

Interior design

The Ford Expedition is the ideal choice when you need both impressive capabilities and lots of seating space. It can seat up to eight passengers in three spacious rows. The wide door openings make it easy to climb inside. With the second-row seats that tilt and slide forward, it is relatively easy to get into the third row.

Cargo space is another thing the Expedition does very well. Behind the third row, it comes with 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space. With the second and third rows folded, this expands to 104.6 cubic feet. If you need even more space, choose the Expedition MAX model, which is a foot longer and comes with 16.9 cubic feet of additional cargo space.

Safety

You can feel safe and secure while driving the Expedition. It comes standard with rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, airbags, traction and stability control, and antilock brakes. The available 202A package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while the Driver Assistance package comes with lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
