2022 Ford F-150 Lightning | Inverness, FL

Ford F-Series pickup trucks have long been an American favorite. Now, the lineup is getting even more exciting with the addition of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. This all-electric truck promises to deliver exceptional performance along with impressive electric versatility. The ordering window for this innovative truck will open later this fall, with models expected to start arriving at dealerships in May 2022.

Electric performance

Giving the F-150 Lightning a big jolt of energy is a pair of electric motors - one at each axle. With the standard battery pack, the F-150 Lightning has an output of 426 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. If you want even more power, the extended-range option delivers 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.

With the standard powertrain, the F-150 Lighting will have an expected driving range of about 230 miles. Upgrading to the extended-range option steps up the total range to about 300 miles. The extended-range F-150 Lightning will also boast impressive acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds.

Charging technology

To keep your F-150 Lightning charged up, you can have an 80-amp charging station installed at your home or use a public charging station.

With an 80-amp charging station, the battery in the extended-range model can be charged from 15 percent to 100 percent in 8 hours. If you use a DC fast charging station, you will reach 80 percent charge in as little as 41 minutes. The available FordPass™ app can help you find nearby charging stations.

One of the most innovative features on the F-150 Lighting is available Intelligent Backup Power. With this technology, you can turn your F-150 Lighting into a backup generator and use up to 9.6 kilowatts of transferrable power to keep the lights on when the power goes out.

Towing and hauling

With the F-150 Lightning, you can still spend the weekends hauling your boat, trailer, or camper. When properly equipped, the Lightning can tow up to 10,000 pounds. It also boasts a maximum payload capacity of up to 2,000 pounds.

To make towing and hauling easier, the F-150 Lightning features an array of available technologies, including Onboard Scales. This system gives you a rough estimate of how much payload you have loaded into the truck so you know how much you can safely carry. It also coordinates with Intelligent Range to give you a more accurate driving range estimate.

Available Pro Trailer Hitch Assist takes all the guesswork out of hitching up your trailer. The system controls the steering, throttle, and brakes so hitching up is easy, even with just one person.

Tech features

Abundant connectivity and convenience tech makes trips in the 2022 F-150 Lightning especially fun. All models come standard with the latest SYNC® 4 infotainment system. This includes a 12-inch color LCD screen along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

Available BlueCruise technology can give you a more relaxing highway driving experience by letting you take your hands off the wheel. This feature works on more than 100,000 miles of freeways across the United States and Canada.

With available Phone As A Key™ technology, your smartphone works as your key. You don't even have to take it out of your pocket or bag. As long as it is near you, you can unlock the doors and start the truck without digging around for your keys or phone.

All of these technology features easily stay up to date thanks to over-the-air updates. You will get to choose when these updates happen, and most updates will take two minutes or less.
