Since vehicles are very complex machines, there are a lot of issues that can arise when operating them. Fortunately, automotive manufacturers like Ford have included a series of warning lights on your dashboard that alert you to the issues your vehicle might be currently facing. This guide will help you decipher what many of these common dashboard warning lights mean.
Check Engine Light
The Check Engine Light is perhaps the most infamous of any of the dashboard warning lights. This symbol, which resembles an engine box, can illuminate during several situations. The most common reason that this light activates is an issue with your engine. If you do see your check engine light come on, take it to our service center as soon as possible.
Tire Pressure Light
If you see a dashboard warning light that resembles a horseshoe with an exclamation point in it, then you have an issue with your tire pressure. This might indicate that the pressure in one of your tires is low, or it could let you know that one of your tires is going flat. Regardless of what the issue could be, you'll want to check the health of your tires as soon as possible.
Engine Temperature Warning Light
If you see a symbol that looks like a key resting on a set of waves, this could indicate that your engine is currently either too hot or too cold. Depending on the situation at hand, you may need to replenish the coolant for your vehicle.
Oil Pressure Warning Light
When you see a symbol that looks like a genie's lamp leaking water from the spout, there is something wrong with the oil pressure of your vehicle. Just like with the Check Engine light, you'll want to get in contact with a mechanic right away and schedule an oil change.
